Water is necessary for all forms of life, it is a crucial element for the functioning of ecosystems and the supplying of the services on which we depend to survive.
In addition, the human right to water is a factor of development and an opportunity to move towards an inclusive, equitable and more just society. To make this a reality, it is important to recognize that the availability of water depends to a large extent on the health of ecosystems.
The population increase and the growing need for goods and services are generating that water, energy and food resources are being exhausted little by little.
It is predicted that by 2030, if everything is the same, the world will have to face a deficit of 40% of water; it is estimated that the supply of water could reach 68, 300 million cubic meters, but the demand will be 91, 200 million.
That is why it is time to act and generate ideas to achieve a change; this document proposes an ecosystem of products for capturing, saving and give a better use of water within the home.
This family of products seeks the reuse of soapy wastewater inside the house, specifically for Mexico City Starting from the need that not so much water be wasted when it is used or that it has a second use.
A group of 4 objects is proposed for homes with limited space, that have a good performance, as well as a saving in the payment of the water service due to the reduction of their consumption.
The ecosystem is composed of a saving shower head (to be developed) that by means of a temperature sensor sends the first 5 liters of cold water which are wasted when heating the water to bath, to a container; at the same time this is connected to a washing machine for small loads that uses 3 liters of water to wash and 3 to rinse and sends waste water to the WC flush tank to be occupied for the discharges. In addition, this ecosystem counts with a soap and softener dispenser that helps the holder not to use more soap, minimizing the amount of water occupied.
This way we maximize the use of water by passing it through several cycles and various functions before discarding it and sending it to the drain, thus achieving a better use of water and savings within the home.
